SunRice Jasmine Fragrant Rice

Jasmine rice is a long grain varietal that is perfect in southeast Asian style dishes. It is often used in stir frys and curries as the natural fragrance compliments many spices. This grain will be slightly sticky but still fluffy. Its separating qualities and fragrance, make it a great choice for a wide variety of fried rice, stir fry and curry recipes. This recipe was originally designed for 4 people. Amended serving sizes for 1, 2, 6, and 8 people are intended to serve as general guidance only. Cooking times may need to be adjusted to suit your amended serving size.
  • 450 g SunRice Steamed Jasmine Rice Family Pack

  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil

  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil

  • 1 Brown Onion (cut into wedges)

  • 1 Large Carrot (thinly sliced)

  • 1 Green Capsicum (diced)

  • 300 g Fresh Pineapple (diced)

  • 550 g Sweet & Sour Cooking Sauce

Method

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large non-stick frying pan over a medium/high heat. Add chicken, onion, carrot and capsicum. Cook, stirring occasionally for 7 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.

  • Add pineapple and cooking sauce. Simmer 10 minutes.

  • To cook the rice, simply massage the pouch to separate the grains and place in the microwave for the required time as indicated on the packet. Serve sweet & sour chicken with rice.

    Tip: Refrigerate any leftover sweet and sour chicken. Reheat and serve with a SunRice Jasmine microwave rice cup.
