This recipe was originally designed for 2 people. Amended serving sizes for 1, 4, 6, and 8 people are intended to serve as general guidance only. Cooking times may need to be adjusted to suit your amended serving size.
  • 250 g SunRice Steamed Brown Rice & Quinoa

  • ¼ cup Barbecue & Honey Marinade

  • 250 g Scotch Fillet Steak

  • 2 tsp Vegetable Oil

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1 Lebanese Cucumber (sliced)

  • ¼ cup Kimchi (see note)

  • Toasted Sesame Seeds (to serve)

Method

  • Place marinade and steak into a shallow dish and turn to coat. Set aside.

  • Heat oil in a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat. Add eggs and cook 4 minutes for soft yolk, or to your liking. Remove eggs and place on a plate. Cover loosely with foil, being careful not to touch yolk with foil.

  • Increase heat to high. Add steak to frying pan and cook 3 minutes each side for medium, or to your liking. Remove and rest 2 minutes.

  • To cook the rice, simply massage the pouch to separate the grains and place in the microwave for the required time as indicated on the packet. Divide rice between two bowls.

  • Slice steak and place in bowls, along with cucumber, kimchi and eggs. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Tip: Kimchi is available in the dip section of select supermarkets, health food stores and Asian grocery stores.
