This recipe was originally designed for 4 people. Amended serving sizes for 1, 2, 6, and 8 people are intended to serve as general guidance only. Cooking times may need to be adjusted to suit your amended serving size.
  • 450 g SunRice Steamed Long Grain White Rice

  • 3 tsp Cornflour

  • ½ cup Oyster Sauce (see tip)

  • 2 tsp Gluten Free Soy Sauce

  • 2 tbsp Cooking Sake

  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar

  • 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil

  • 500 g Rump Steak (trimmed and thinly sliced)

  • 200 g Button Mushrooms (halved)

  • 200 g Zucchini (sliced diagonally)

  • 6 Spring Onions (cut into 4cm lengths, white & green sections separated)

  • 3 clove Garlic (crushed)

  • 1 tbsp Ginger (finely grated)

  • Ground Black Pepper

Long Grain

White long grain rice is your go to grain for a versatile dish. It has long, slender grains, that when cooked, remain separate. This results in a light and fluffy rice that absorbs the flavours of your cooking. It is the perfect partner to a stir-fry, casserole or a stew.

Method

  • Place cornflour in a jug and blend with 1/2 cup water. Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, sake and brown sugar and whisk with a fork to combine. Set aside. Tip: for gluten free, check ingredient list of oyster sauce.

  • Heat half the oil in a large non-stick frying pan over a high heat. Stir-fry steak in two batches until browned, then remove from pan. Add remaining oil to frying pan. Add mushrooms, zucchini and spring onion whites and stir-fry for 2 -3 minutes, until just tender. Add garlic and ginger and cook, stirring for 1 minute longer.

  • To cook the rice, simply massage the pouch to separate the grains and place in the microwave for the required time as indicated on the packet.

  • Stir liquid in jug, add to frying pan and cook, stirring for 1 minute. Add beef and spring onion greens and cook, stirring for 1 minute longer. Season with pepper. Serve with rice.
